About Adam

Adam Hanley is a graduate of the Medical Illustration Graduate Program at Augusta University. Previously, he attended the University of Alabama, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Studio Art with a concentration in digital media.

During his time at the University of Alabama, Adam took on a double major in biology and studio art to prepare him for studying medical illustration. In his last semester, Adam was enrolled in UA’s Biology Outreach program, during which he crafted a learning activity that taught K-5 students the basics of muscles and muscle contraction. He also obtained a Gold ADDY Award in the student division of the Tuscaloosa AAF American Advertising Awards for work he did in an illustration course.

As an MIGP student, Adam Hanley worked to strengthen his artistic skills and biomedical knowledge. In his first year at MIGP, he has created many illustrations that communicate a variety of biomedical topics. His patient education brochure provides parents of newly diagnosed cystic fibrosis patients with the information they need to care for their child. Additionally, his thesis work led to the creation of two educational animations for students in the Augusta University Physical Therapy department.

After graduating from the MIGP, Adam Hanley is excited to continue to pursue a career in medical illustration. He is specifically interested in 3D medical animation and continues to strengthen his skills in that area.
